Clothes Minded”

ClothesMinded was a week long exhibit that aimed to shed light on the malpractices found within the fashion industry. When I first began working in fashion I was really swept in by the glamour of it all, but the closer I looked, I began to see the cracks. This exhibit focused on the mistreatment of employees, the psychological and physical damage that fashion has on humanity and the environment, and most importantly, the insurmountable waste found within the industry. The goal was to educate and teach all of the positive ways we can make an impact by making small changes individually.

Who knew clothing could be the “perfect drug”? Fashion Addict is a powerful and penetrating look into the life of Isabel Varela who changed herself from fashion addict to healthy-fashion advocate. This short film dives into her harrowing mental, emotional, and physical journey towards recovery, while also exposing the darker side of the fashion industry. This is a story of truth and hope, aimed at empowering every person that they are capable of overcoming all their adversities.
