NYC Fair Trade Coalition Presents : Clothing Swap Party x REPAIR + REVIVE

We’re kicking off #FashionRevolution Week with “swap and pop”. 
Join us on Saturday, April 20th from 12pm - 8pm as we gather with our expert makers and menders.
 
#MarieKondo your closets and meet us in Harlem hosted by The Children's Art Carnival

Bring your gently used clothing; Women’s, Children’s, Men’s + Accessories. Swap them for items that are “new to you” or repair + revive your own items with help from our members.👔👖

Lost a button? Popped a stitch? Want to Upcycle that Old shirt into a bag?

✂️Isabel Varela will be giving D.I.Y. demos all day and can help you upcycle your goodies!

✂️Sew Sustainable Alterations will keep your clothes longer by making alterations easy and convenient.

Have an old flame that needs re-kindling?

The Children's Art Carnival will be hosting the first

Mend, Repair, & Revive Workshop by Isabel Varela

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2019 | 12PM To 3PM

OR

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 3, 2019 | 12PM TO 3PM

The workshop will be $35 (+tax) per day per student with a percentage of the proceeds going to The Children’s Arts Carnival! Your ticket will include: supplies, practice fabrics, home sewing machines, and an Information Sheet so you have a reference on everything you learned in class! After the workshop you will leave ready to bring new life to your garments in your wardrobe!

Do you have clothes sitting in your closet that needs a little TLC?

No Problem!

Master Tailor, Isabel Varela will teach you simple basic techniques to use to fix your repairs.

In this Workshop you will learn:

1. How to securely sew on a 2-button, shank button, and a 4-hole button.

2. How to hem and shorten you pants by hand sewing and machine.

3. How to repair holes in your sweaters.

4. Work on other basic repairs needed during workshop with the guide of Isabel Varela
